Lee Griffiths, 29, from Maghull pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention. He was banned from driving for a year and fined £550 with £250 at Preston Crown Court on August 30th.

Earlier this week, on the anniversary of the collision, her stepfather Stephen accused the driver of leaving his daughter ‘for dead’.

‘One year ago today our lives turned upside down, this last year has been complete hell, and it still isn’t over,’ he wrote.

‘Somehow Georgia survived the most horrific accident when some useless cowardly piece of s**t drove onto the pavement and ploughed straight through her.

‘He apparently wasn’t on his phone or speeding, but managed to drive across two gate fronts on a busy A road, and come to stop 65 metres down the road from where he hit her.

‘His barrister tells me he’s had an awful time and is full of remorse, really!! Bless him.

‘He is banned from driving for one year, he received a £550 fine with £250 costs that he can pay at £50 a month. He already had 6 points on his licence for driving with no insurance.

‘He is a total scumbag, a lowlife piece of s**t, so cowardly he left my daughter to die behind a wall.

‘I hope the piece of s**t reads this, or one of his sh**house family members reads it.

‘He knows where I live right next to where he left my daughter for dead. Georgia continues to get better she is doing well, she looks amazing.’

Writing on Facebook, the brave teenager (pictured) said: ‘What a tough year it’s been, the flashbacks are probably the worst memory I have of the accident’

The teenager hit headlines last year after her mother Sharon posted a harrowing photo on Facebook showing Georgia, then aged 15, in an induced coma and in her school uniform in a bid to find more witnesses. The appeal was shared thousands of times on social media.

Georgia, who has undergone several operations and faces further surgery, has revealed she has started a science course at Runshaw College, Lancashire, and one day hopes to pursue a career in medicine.

Writing on Facebook, the brave teenager said: ‘What a tough year it’s been, the flashbacks are probably the worst memory I have of the accident.

‘I’ve come a long way but I have so much further to go. Coma, brain trauma, scars, ongoing knee problems, future operations etc. All of this will be a memory for me and it is heart-breaking to know I lost a life.

‘I’ve changed drastically but I honestly couldn’t thank Alder Hey enough. I am so grateful for everyone that had anything to do with me. Thank you for a second chance at life. Thank you for your amazing work and the care I was given was unbelievable.

‘Three months in hospital, eight months after the accident I sat my GCSEs and now one year down the line I am at college studying science to go onto medicine in the future.

‘It’s been tough, some times harder than others but I got through it because of my friends and family. Thank you for the love and support especially this past year. Another memory to add to the collection. You guys got me through this.’
