- A driver was handed a $1,200 speeding ticket on Monday morning in WA
- The man was stopped by police for allegedly driving 97km/h in a 60km zone
- When asked why he was allegedly speeding, the man made a strange confession
Drivers busted speeding behind the wheel may throw any excuse at police to avoid a hefty ticket, but one Western Australian man stunned an officer on Monday with his unusual justification.
The truck driver was pulled over in Pithara, a rural town about 240km north of Perth, for allegedly driving 37km/h above a 60km speed zone, according to police.
When the officer asked the man why he was travelling at 97km/h, the man confessed he had to go to the toilet.

‘I needed to s***, the kids have given me gastro,’ the man revealed, according to the police ticket docket.
Unfortunately, the man’s pleading didn’t sway the officer, who promptly handed the man a $1,200 fine and a loss of 12 demerit points.
Double demerits were in effect.
