A man was all set to propose to his girlfriend as he set up a drone to capture the special moment but it was completely ruined when the drone crashed.
The couple was enjoying a scenic day out in Bruarfoss Falls, Iceland when the man planned out a stunning proposal that was running smoothly until 55 seconds into the video.
Unfortunately, despite the sweet boyfriend’s good intentions what was captured by the drone on March first was 50 seconds of the couple smiling while looking up at the camera and as soon as he gets down on one knee, the drone knocked out.
Adorable: This man was all set to propose to his girlfriend as he set up a drone to capture the special moment but it was completely ruined when the drone crashed
Great: The couple was vacationing in Bruarfoss Falls, Iceland when the guy planned out a stunning proposal that was running smoothly until 55 seconds into the video
Uh oh: Unfortunately, despite the sweet boyfriend’s good intentions what was captured by the drone on March first was 50 seconds of the couple smiling while looking up at the camera
Yay! As soon as he gets down on one knee to propose to her, the drone knocked out and this is the only footage of the proposal
In the video posted by Viral Hog the man proposing, whose name was undisclosed, shared a statement about what happened.
‘I was using a drone to capture the big moment during my proposal to my now fiance during a trip to Iceland.
‘Just as I got down on my knee, the drone crashed to the ground, missing all the action.’
The video is painfully hilarious as you see everything going smoothly and the guy is telling his girlfriend to look up at the camera.
His girlfriend looks so happy in her beanie and purple Patagonia coat as they start hugging and laughing at the camera.
Although there is no sound in the video you can pretty much follow along as the boyfriend instructs the girl that they’re taking photos.
Then he tells her they should switch their hand positions because it’s a video and she starts shaking her head.
Laughing, he hugs her and they start making silly faces when he stops and pulls her face towards his to start talking to her seriously.
At first she was smiling but once he started talking to her you can see her facial expression change, as he must be saying something along the lines of loving her and wanting to spend the rest of his life with her.
Sad: Everything was going smoothly for the couple who was hugging and laughing at the camera
Unfortunate: As soon as he reaches in his pocket for the ring, you can see his girlfriend ecstatic but the drone crashes and doesn’t capture any of the special moment
Whoops: Instead of capturing the happy moment, the drone plummeted to the snow
That’s… nice? The man carried on with the proposal, however his plan to capture the moment on video was scuppered
However, we will never know because just as you see him reach in his left pocket for the ring, he pulls it out, opens it and then the drone starts fading it right before he finally gets down on one knee and that’s when the drone crashed.
At the exact second he was down on his knee, the drone was already on the ground and you can just see the bottom half of his bent leg for a millisecond before the machine starts sputtering on the ground.
After the drone crashed the only footage that can be seen is the bright blue sky of Iceland and because there’s no sound, people were left wondering if she ever said yes.
Thankfully she did indeed say yes, as the poor man referred to her as his ‘now fiancee’ to Viral Hog.
Many people took to social media to comment on the video and one man even joked, ‘Hope the marriage doesn’t crash…’
Another user wrote, ‘epic fail’ and one guy shared, ‘It’s a message’ while similarly someone else said, ‘It’s a sign!’
While this drone proposal was a very unfortunate fluke, it’s not uncommon for people to propose with the flying cameras.
Many people choose to capture their big moments with drones because it captures every second and one success story was the couple from Georgia where the man had his drone drop off a basket carrying the ring.
