Drone stops Thursday Night Football game between Bengals and Ravens TWICE as the uninvited guest brings more chaos to a tumultuous contest

As if this week’s edition of Thursday Night Football wasn’t chaotic enough with the myriad of injuries taking place, there was a distraction from the sky that caused the game to be delayed.

A remotely-piloted drone was seen flying over M&T Bank Stadium during the game between the visiting Cincinnati Bengals and the Baltimore Ravens.

First, the game was stopped with around 5:04 in the second quarter while the Bengals were in crisis mode following an injury to quarterback Joe Burrow.

‘Apparently, there was a drone inside the stadium so they have stopped play,’ play-by-play man Al Michaels said on the Amazon Prime Video broadcast before cameras cut to the quad-copter in the sky. ‘So there you go, and we’ll take a commercial break.’

Game play resumed without incident for the rest of the second quarter as well as the third quarter – before stopping once again as the fourth quarter was about to get underway.

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow also had a serious issue with his hand that saw him sit down

Michaels said that game officials took an ‘administrative’ timeout to wait before the drone cleared the area once again.

Both Ravens and Bengals fans must be wishing that this drone incident was the only drama for the evening.

In total, six players appeared to suffer some form of injury this game – with at least two facing fears of lost game time.

Ravens TE Mark Andrews went down on the first drive with an ankle injury that head coach John Harbaugh believes is a season-ending ailment.

Andrews’ quarterback – Lamar Jackson – also went into the ‘blue tent’ for evaluation but returned to the contest.

The same could not be said for Burrow – who went to the locker room before halftime with a hand injury and did not play for the rest of the night. Backup Jake Browning deputized for him.

In addition, Bengals cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt hit the showers early with a quad injury.

Other injuries befell Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and Bengals defensive lineman B.J. Hill in what went on to be a 34-20 win for Baltimore.
