Dua Lipa announces hometown concert at the Royal Albert Hall where she will perform songs from her upcoming third album

Dua Lipa has confirmed she will play a hometown show at London’s Royal Albert Hall later this year when her third album has been released.

The pop star, 28, will release her third studio album Radical Optimism in May, and has announced a special show at the legendary venue on October 17, where she will play songs from the record alongside her catalogue of existing hits.

Taking to Instagram on Monday morning, Dua wrote: ‘HOMETOWN !! so excited to announce I’ll be doing a show at The Royal Albert Hall on October 17th this year.

‘This is such a special iconic venue and I can’t wait to share these songs live with you, everyone in the UK and Ireland who pre-orders the album via the official store will get early access to pre-sale, hopefully I’ll see you there’.

Dua’s new album, Radical Optimism, will be released on May 3 and consists of 11 songs including the recently released single Training Season.

Fans can pre-order the album via the artist’s website to gain access to a pre-sale, which will be available from Wednesday April 10.

A general sale window will then be held from 10am General on Friday April 12.

The pop star previously explained her new record ‘captures a period of major changes in her life, including the end of a relationship and her forays into dating.’

She told Rolling Stone magazine: ‘This record feels a bit more raw. I want to capture the essence of youth and freedom and having fun and just letting things happen, whether it’s good or bad.

‘You can’t change it. You just have to roll with the punches of whatever’s happening in your life.’

News of the singer’s performance at the Royal Albert Hall comes after it was revealed she will turn her appearance at Glastonbury this summer into a dramatic movie using behind-the-scenes footage of the build-up to her main stage appearance.

She will also use the film to accompany a single released after she performs on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm in Somerset.

Dua greeted confirmation that she was headlining the festival on June 28 saying: ‘I have dreamt of this moment all my life.’

The singer previously appeared at Glastonbury in 2017 and during Mark Ronson’s set in 2019.

She will join Coldplay and Shania Twain as headliners in 2024.
