A couple of ducks were found with their bills zip-tied to their necks at a California park.

Elizabeth Stevens and a few of her friends were visiting Donnelly Park on Sunday when the group discovered the helpless birds.

Donnelly Park is home to several ducks and is pretty popular among locals as it is located in the middle of Turlock.

‘I’m pretty sure someone did it to them, just how tight they were and how they were literally cut off as if someone tightened them and then cut it,’ Stevens told Fox 40.

Tyler White, who was with Stevens when they found the two ducks, said: ‘I thought it was pretty messed up. I don’t understand why people would do that.’

When Stevens finally caught the pair of ducks, the group set them free.

Stevens and her friends said they have been contacted by so many people after the story spread on social media.

She said most of them have said ‘thank you, you guys are good people’.

Stevens (right) said that she believes someone did it to them intentionally. Tyler White (center) said he didn't understand why people would do something like that to innocent ducks
