Frank Watt and Cheryl Johnstone leaving Dundee Sheriff Court yesterday
A brazen couple have admitted having sex under a bridge for 35 minutes in full view of passers by after they were caught on CCTV.
Frank Watt and Cheryl Johnstone were spotted by a security guard romping next to a stairwell on the Tay Road Bridge, in Dundee.
Johnstone was seen performing a sex act on Watt, during the middle of the day, and the amorous pair continued their tryst for more than half an hour.
At least five members of the public had walked past during this time with the CCTV worker shouting at them to stop twice, Dundee Sheriff Court heard.
When police officers arrived on the scene the pair were pulling up their trousers after romping by the staircase on the busy road, reported the Daily Record.
Fiscal depute Isma Mukhtar told the court: ‘The accused didn’t stop when the members of the public had gone past.
‘The operator went back and again shouted to them to stop what they were doing and again that did not deter them and they both carried on in the manner narrated.
‘Further members of the public were exposed to their behaviour because of the continuation of the accused.’
It is believed the couple were caught having sex under the section of the bridge on the left-hand-side
Watt, 31, and Johnstone, 32, both from Dundee, admitted public indecency.
Watt also admitted possessing £10 worth of cannabis when he was taken to police HQ in the city.
Watt’s defence solicitor Ross Donnelly, said ‘alcohol difficulties’ could be to blame for his actions.
