Dundee midfielder Mo Sylla is ‘responsive’ in hospital after collapsing at half time during a Scottish Premiership match.

The French midfielder was named in the starting lineup as the Dees faced Aberdeen at Dens Park on Saturday.

With the hosts trailing 2-1 at the interval Sylla fell ill in the dressing room and collapsed and had to be treated by medical staff before being taken to hospital.

The restart was delayed following the incident and Josh Mulligan replaced the 30-year-old for the second-half.

Speaking following the game Dundee boss Tony Docherty provided an update on his player’s condition.

‘He is responsive at the moment. It wasn’t a nice thing to see.’ Docherty said.

‘Mo took a turn at half-time. The medics were involved and we had to get the players out of there.

‘He’s responsive. He’s in hospital right now. We’ll just need to assess that and see how he is over the weekend.’

Dundee have now won just one of their opening six games of the season, and currently sit eighth in the Scottish Premiership.

Sylla joined Dundee from Hartlepool last summer and has made 36 appearances in all competitions for the club.

The midfielder has previously turned out for Entente and Laval in his native France and English clubs Oldham Athletic and Aldershot.
