Dustin Hoffman, wife in NYC amid sexual harassment scandal

Amid the wave of powerful figures in Hollywood accused of sexual harassment, Dustin Hoffman seems to be doing better than most.

The 80-year-old actor beamed as he was out in New York City on Monday arm-in-arm with wife Lisa, 63, as the couple of nearly four decades ventured out for a bite.

Two of his collaborators in Netflix’s The Meyerowitz Stories, star Adam Sandler and writer-director Noah Baumbach, were also seen leaving a hotel to pow-wow with the actor and his wife over lunch.

Pleasant: Dustin Hoffman, 80, and his wife Lisa, 63, were snapped in NYC Monday looking carefree as they headed to lunch, about a month after sexual harassment allegations sprang up against the actor

The Oscar-winner smiled as he sported a head of wavy grey hair, with a black jacket over a grey zip-up vest over a button-down dark blue striped shirt. The Kramer vs. Kramer actor rounded things out with black pants and dress shoes on the outing in Gotham.

Lisa, a businesswoman in the cosmetic industry, matched her spouse in dark tones, wearing a black trench coat with buttons, over a black top, pants and boots, with a purse. Her brown locks were parted in the middle.

Sandler wore a navy blue suit over a light blue button-down shirt with black leather sneakers. The 51-year-old Brooklyn native had close-cropped hair sporting stubble as he was out and about in the city.

Hoffman seems to have escaped major career damage – unlike producers Harvey Weinstein and Brett Ratner, and actor Kevin Spacey – less than a month after a woman named Anna Graham Hunter claimed he made a series of sexually inappropriate remarks to her when she was a 17-year-old intern working on his 1985 TV film Death of a Salesman.

The Tootsie star ‘was openly flirtatious’ as he ‘grabbed my a**,’ ‘talked about sex to me and in front of me,’ and asked for foot massages, Hunter wrote in a piece for The Hollywood Reporter November 1.

Hunter said in one instance, Hoffman humiliated her in a front of a room full of people.

‘One morning I went to his dressing room to take his breakfast order; he looked at me and grinned, taking his time,’ she said. ‘Then he said, “I’ll have a hard-boiled egg … and a soft-boiled clitoris.” His entourage burst out laughing. I left, speechless. Then I went to the bathroom and cried.’

Another woman named Wendy Riss Gatsiounis said that the veteran actor peppered her with sexually-fueled questions when she met with him over a show business project in 1991.

Gatsiounis told Variety that Hoffman asked her to come with him to a hotel, trying to seduce her with the prospect of ‘a whole new body to explore.’

In the wake of the allegations, Hoffman issued a statement disavowing the conduct described by the women. He said: ‘I have the utmost respect for women and feel terrible that anything I might have done could have put her in an uncomfortable situation. I am sorry. It is not reflective of who I am.’

In related news, Hoffman’s agent Adam Venit was welcomed back to William Morris Endeavor Entertainment Monday after he was suspended for 30 days amid a company probe into accusations sexual harassment against him.

Actor Terry Crews claimed on Good Morning America this month that Venit made ‘overtly sexual kind of tongue moves’ and grabbed his crotch at an industry party last year – in front of his wife, Rebecca King-Crews – leaving him ’emasculated’ and ‘objectified.’

Crews took to Twitter to vent on the situation surrounding Venit, saying, ‘Someone got a pass.’
