Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands spent the final day of their state visit to Portugal taking in the sights of the historic town of Sintra.
Standing against a backdrop of the town’s colourful houses, the Dutch royals posed for photos at the Palacio Nacional, a museum housed in an impressive building that was once home to the Portuguese royal family.
The scenery was so picturesque Queen Maxima could not resist snapping her own photo on her smartphone.

The Dutch royal, 46, wore a dusty pink outfit and delicate fascinator for the tour of the landmark.
The couple had traveled from the Netherlands to the town of Sintra, nestled in the foothills of Portugal’s Sintra Mountains.
Famous for its elaborate tile work, the royals were escorted around for their own private tour of the Palacio Nacional.
They posed together in front of the colourful houses on the mountains, framed perfectly by the historic arches of the building.

Keeping the colour theme throughout, she added a pair of light pink stiletto heels. She had her blonde tresses pulled up and framed by a swirly fascinator.
