Dwayne Johnson shows off his buff physique in a tiny pair of shorts on set of his film The Smashing Machine after rupturing the bursa sac in his elbow

Dwayne Johnson was back at work on the set of his latest project in Vancouver, Canada.

The Moana 2 actor, 52, showcased his buff body, costumed in a black T-shirt and shorts on Saturday.

The usually bald actor wore a dark wig for his portrayal of former UFC Heavyweight Champ Mark Kerr, 55, whom he is portraying in the biopic, The Smashing Machine.

The Rock had a black brace around his left knee, but it appeared to be part of his costume.

Earlier in the week, the actor shared with his fans on social media that he had injured his elbow.

‘Any time your film is called The Smashing Machine, well you’re gonna get smashed up,’ the pro wrestler said, showing an area at the joint the size of a small melon, which he compared to a ‘cantaloupe.’

Although at the time of the taping he asked his fans for advice on how to treat the injury, he administered some of his own Teremana tequila for pain relief.

After being checked out by a doctor, the actor reported there was ‘No extensive tissue damage,’ and the ‘Ruptured bursa sac that will eventually heal.’

Johnson is co-starring with Emily Blunt and Oleksandr Usyk in The Smashing Machine.

Blunt, 41, is starring as former Playboy model and Kerr’s ex-wife Dawn Staples in the drama co-written by Kerr, 55,  and director Benny Safdie.

Boxing Champ Usyk, 37, will portray MMA legend Igor Vovchanchyn who had several bouts with Kerr back in the no-holds-barred era of the UFC.

Kerr is also acting as a consultant on the production.

Johnson and Safdie are also producing the project, which they have been working since The Rock’s Seven Bucks Productions obtained the rights in 2019.

Blunt and Johnson co-starred in the 2021 Disney film Jungle Cruise.

In an interview with Howard Stern, the actress revealed that she gave her co-star a signed Raiders of the Lost Ark poster at the end of their last project together and since then he’s provided her with several gifts, including ‘endless tequila.’

The Smashing Machine is currently scheduled for a December release.

It’s hoped the drama will make to theaters in time for awards consideration.
