Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson recreates THAT fan favorite meme of HIMSELF to celebrate Christmas

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson recreated an iconic meme of himself on Instagram on Christmas to bring a bit of holiday cheer to his fans.

The 51-year-old has repeatedly gone viral for a legendary 1994 photo of himself in a fashion forward moment worthy of Zoolander.

He is pictured decked out in a sleek black turtleneck with a glittering chain necklace, posing with his thumb tucked into the fanny pack strapped round his middle.

Over the years, Dwayne has sent up the look multiple times, referring to it as ‘#BuffLesbian’ on Instagram and replicating it for Saturday Night Live.

And to mark Christmas Day on Monday, the wrestler-turned-movie-star treated his 395 million followers to a glimpse of himself in the outfit yet again.

Sauntering past his fully decorated tree, Dwayne showed off his silky singing voice and crooned a parody of the Yuletide standard The Christmas Song.

‘Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, 90s Rock nipping at your nose,’ he sang. ‘I’m walking down the hall looking cool as f***, Just take one look at my amazing clothes.’

Playing the lyrics straight, The Rock went on: ‘Everybody knows a turkey and some camel toe – I mean, mistletoe – helps to make the season bright. Although it’s been said many times many ways, Merry Christmas to you.’

‘Merry Christmas, from your keepin’ it 100 friend. 90’s Rock,’ he wrote in the caption, adding a hashtag in reference to his bag: ‘#TappinFannys.’

When People named him the Sexiest Man Alive in 2016, Dwayne looked fondly back at the infamous 1994 look and revealed some of the secrets behind it.

‘I’ve got a tissue underneath my elbow because I felt like my turtleneck was expensive,’ the Jumanji star dished with a laugh.

‘The funniest thing about this picture is, this is not a joke,’ he noted. ‘I walked out of the house like this. Like: Hey baby, this is it, right?’

Dwayne argued: ‘“Alright, so here’s the thing. It takes a lot of confidence to rock a fanny pack. Put your thumb in the fanny pack. I’m giving a look.’

Last year on the E! News show Daily Pop, The Rock hinted at the contents of the fanny pack, sharing that he was keeping women’s phone numbers in the bag.

‘And stuff like that,’ he said cryptically, laughing and vamping that the fanny pack also contained ‘a lot of inappropriate things I can’t mention right now.’

The picture was taken three years before The Rock tied the knot with his first wife Dany Garcia, who became his manager after their marriage amicably collapsed.

They have a 22-year-old daughter called Simone, who has followed in her father’s footsteps and become a professional wrestler with the ring name Ava.

Dwayne is now married to Lauren Hashian, 39, the daughter of the late Sib Hashian, who came to prominence in the 1970s as the drummer of the band Boston.

Lauren and Dwayne tied the knot in Hawaii in 2019 after welcoming two daughters into the world together – Jasmine, eight, and Tiana, five.
