Dwayne Johnson may go by his nickname ‘The Rock,’ but deep down, he’s just a softie.
The Moana actor, 52, was signing an autograph for a fan at the premiere of Red One in London on Wednesday November 6, when the encounter turned emotional.
‘What’s your name?’ the action star asked. ‘Ricky,’ the young man answered, adding, ‘I’m an actor too. I’m a professional actor.’
‘It’s great to meet you man,’ Johnson replied, shaking the hand offered to him and suggesting, ‘maybe one day you and I can work together.’
‘I hope so,’ replied Ricky, giving the actor the name of his talent agency, and revealing he was 13 when Johnson asked his age. ‘Call me,’ he said.

The two ended the encounter with a hug, which resulted in young Ricky getting slightly misty.
The Rock went a step further and grabbed co-star JK Simmons to come meet the young thespian.
‘I’m an actor and I really love you,’ he told the Oscar winner, referring to his roles in Spider Man and Whiplash.
Simmons pointed to his character on a one-sheet from Red One telling Ricky, ‘this guys a much nicer guy,’ then pointing to Johnson, saying, ‘this guys a nice guy too.’
Revealing his reaction to the sweet interaction, the Jumanji star wrote ‘I’m always really moved when young boys cry in front of me.’
‘Stops me in my tracks because, us boys never want to be emotional in front of people, let alone cry in front of grown men we look up to.’
The on-screen strongman added, ‘It’s in our DNA to hide emotions.’
‘I’m proud of this kid,’ he continued, ‘keeping his composure, keeping his sense of humor, keeping his manners – all while fighting back his tears.’
‘I’m an actor too,’ the young man told the action star, offering his hand. ‘m a professional actor.’ ‘It’s great to meet you man,’ Johnson replied, shaking the hand offered to him and suggesting, ‘maybe one day you and I can work together. I hope so,’ the young actor replied
The fan named Ricky, became a little misty during the encounter, which touched the big screen tough guy’s heart. ‘I’m always really moved when young boys cry in front of me. In a message to his possible future co-star, he said it was ‘Very cool to meet you, Ricky and keep working hard young man. See you at the top one day.’
He also sent a ‘big shout to my ‘big brother’, JK Simmons for coming over to make this kid’s day. You’re a legend.’
The Rock ended the post writing a message of hope. ‘One day, we’ll all be working for Ricky in Hollywood.’
Red One will be released in theaters November 15.
