East 17 star was disqualified from a karaoke competition on local radio for singing his OWN hit song

East 17 star Teddy Coldwell was disqualified from a karaoke contest because he was ‘too authentic’ after singing a version of his own song.

The singer, 49, couldn’t resist entering the competition when he came across it during a recent outing in Hemel Hempstead last week.

The task was to sing a ‘banger for a banger’, meaning anyone who sang a song would be rewarded with a hotdog from the stall.

The competition was ran by BBC Three Counties Radio presenter Justin Dealey, who met Terry when he came over to sing a song.

Playing the segment for his listeners on Saturday, James said: ‘This is what happened when we played our game.

‘So I’m stood by this hotdog stall, if they sing us a banger, and it’s good enough, I buy them a banger.’

Terry sang the band’s iconic nineties hit, Stay Another Day, however before he could reach the end of the song, Justin booted him out of the competition.

Justin said: ‘Sorry mate, too authentic, you’re disqualified.’

Terry jokingly replied: ‘Can I just have a slice of bacon or something?’

Last year, Terry revealed that he had become a father-of-six after his wife gave birth to a baby girl on December 17.

A spokesperson for the star said: ‘Terry is over the moon and delighted with the birth of his daughter who is his sixth child.
