‘Was the parcel delivered by a drone?’ EastEnders fans savage the BBC soap after Sam Mitchell’s fling is exposed by a Hermes driver ‘in an invisible cloak’

A dramatic scene was undermined by an apparent gaffe as EastEnders viewers settled down to watch the latest episode of the BBC soap on Monday evening.

Fans were hooked as Nancy Carter unwittingly discovered boyfriend Zack Hudson’s one-night stand with Sam Mitchell, courtesy of a hapless Hermes delivery driver.

Following a recent argument, thoughtful Nancy had opted to build bridges with Zack by posting him a gift while she was otherwise engaged at a remembrance for her troubled mum Linda.

However he had already brushed the he row aside by bedding Sam, who vowed to keep their fling a secret as she prepared to leave the following morning.

And it may well have remained that way, if not for Sam choosing to collect Nancy’s gift from his doorstep – while dressed in Zack’s hooded top.

Delivery confirmation photos taken by the driver and sent back to Nancy show a furtive Sam holding the parcel while her shirtless boyfriend waits in the doorway.

Despite the obvious drama, viewers were more concerned with the damning photos – not least because they appeared to have been taken from a great height, suggesting the delivery driver was unnaturally tall.

Commenting on the blunder one fan pointed out the photo’s lack of realism, writing: ‘I mean, quite like the twist but blimey: Was the parcel delivered by a drone or did the delivery driver stand on a box, wear an invisibility cloak and snap the picture without Zack and Sam’s knowledge?!’

A second added: ‘Dear lord yeah what is that #EastEnders, Who took it no wait not the ‘photographer’ with a drone or something. Sharon with the Phil & Grant tape scenario came to mind.’

Referring to Albert Square pub The Queen Victoria, they later quipped: ‘Oh wait you can see a whole load of stuff from the pub window you know the one.’

Another joked: ‘How tall was the Hermes courier May I ask?’

The gaffe comes after Danny Dyer revealed he wants to go out as part of an explosive plot, adding that he will finish filming his last scenes in October.

He told The Sun: ‘It’s huge and it’s going to upset a few people. I will miss everyone but I want to go out proper. I came in proper and I want to go out proper.

‘I wish I could tell you more. In the next couple of months you’ll learn a bit about what we’re going to do but I can tell you it’s huge. I want to go out in a way that’s going to get people talking.

‘It’s a thing that needs to be discussed more openly and I think it’s going to shock a few people.’
