He was the 80s super villain of EastEnders, who subjected Kathy Beale to a horrific rape ordeal which led to his imprisonment and banishment from Albert Sqaure.
But James Wilmott-Brown is making a chilling return to Walford to carry out a revenge plan to smite all of the residents he feels has wronged him.
The seedy soap villain – played by the original actor William Boyde, now aged 64 – is motivated by his thought that everyone and everything around him destroyed his life – and he is not willing to accept any of the blame himself.
Awful: James Wilmott-Brown is making a chilling return to Walford to carry out a revenge plan to hurt all of the residents he feels has wronged him
James’ return to the BBC soap was teased on Thursday night when Kathy received some flowers – which had a sinister undertone as it was implied that James was spying on her and Ian.
James is a businessman who was introduced as the manager of the Queen Vic in 1986. He later opened an upmarket wine bar which suffered from its rivalry to the Vic and interference from shady company The Firm.
After James hired Kathy, his obsession with her grew and he subjected her to a horrific rape ordeal. After his release he tried to come back to Albert Square but was later forced out again.
Awful: Kathy Beale will be one of the faces on James’ shocking hit list, and although his plans aren’t yet known, they are sure to be awful as he blames her for destroying his life after she stood up to him and sent him to jail

James owns shady company Weyland & Co and his brother in law Hugo, who was the sibling of his first wife Elizabeth Browning, is the Chairman.
Max Branning, Fi Browning, Josh Hemmings and James’ son Luke are all working for the company.
Max met Luke when he was in prison, and after he revealed his own hatred towards Albert Square, Luke recruited him into his father’s suspicious company.
Weyland & Co is designed to bring Albert Square to its knees by having as much control over the area as possible.
They want to buy all of the businesses and properties to slowly destroy its inhabitants.
The main target at this stage is the Vic. After the explosion, James wants to send in assessors to land massive repair costs on the Carters, which they won’t be able to afford, in order to drive them out.
Since EastEnders, actor William Boyde has worked on TV miniseries, commonly starring in just one episode.
In 2001, he enjoyed a longer run on BBC show ‘Orrible, which starred Johnny Vaughan and Boyde in similar brushes with the law, as Tim.
