Sharon Watts offered her friend Linda Carter help to buy Mick’s share of The Queen Victoria during Wednesday night’s episode of EastEnders.
Linda was left in tears after learning of Janine Butcher’s plans to sell the iconic pub to the ‘highest bidder’ when Mick is presumed dead after he was lost at sea.
But heartbroken Linda was unable to do anything about her plans because she didn’t have the money herself to buy The Queen Vic and wasn’t able to get a loan.
Linda (Kellie Bright) is the ex-wife of Mick (Danny Dyer) after the childhood sweethearts separated and he remarried Janine (Charlie Brooks).
Speaking about the dilemma to Sharon (Letitia Dean), landlady Linda said: ‘I spoke to the solicitor. Janine is going to sell Mick’s share of the Vic.’

‘After Mick is presumed dead, Janine can do what she wants, it could take months or it could take a year,’ she added.
Eager to help her friend, Sharon suggested getting a loan or getting the residents of Walford to raise money to help her buy the pub.
But Linda said they wouldn’t be able to raise the funds, adding: ‘Janine is going to sell to the highest bidder, and that will be a chain.’
Later on, Linda was seen looking devastated as she once again spoke to Sharon about the pub, with her son Ollie saying he didn’t want to move out of the pub.
Sharon then suggested: ‘How do you feel about going into business with a friend?’
To which a shocked Linda said: ‘Could you afford it?’
Sharon replied: ‘I’ve got the gym, if I could free up some money and get an investor of my own.’
Linda added: ‘I suppose I could talk to Denise about selling my shares in the salon, pool our resources. You’d really do that? For me?’

A delighted Linda said: ‘Thank you Sharon! I mean it.’
To which Sharon added: ‘Just leave it with me, yeah?’
But it remains to be seen whether the friends will be able to raise enough money and buy the iconic pub from Janine.
Viewers were forced to say goodbye to Mick on Christmas Day when he was lost at sea while attempting to save Linda during a tense festive special.
Mick, played by Danny Dyer, came into the show back in 2013 with wife Linda and their children.
But after the happy couple’s initial stint, things changed, with teenage sweethearts Mick and Linda parting ways and Mick re-marrying Janine.
Speaking about his exit from the soap opera after nine years, Danny admitted that he became disillusioned with his character and felt like Mick had ‘lost his way’.
‘I didn’t quite know who I was playing anymore,’ star Danny told The Sun of his later storylines. ‘It was an odd thing.’
Discussing his reasons for leaving the show, Danny also claimed that, in recent years, he’s been constantly told by people that they no longer watch EastEnders.
He said: ‘All I got for the past couple of years was, “You still in that EastEnders? I don’t watch it anymore.” Constantly, that was the thing.

‘When I first came in there was like seven or eight million people watching it, of course because of streaming services and all that stuff a lot less people do watch it.
‘It was more that people didn’t watch it anymore: “You still in that?” it was all that sort of dialogue.
‘It was a lot of people, a lot of young people, young people don’t watch it.’
When Danny joined the BBC One show in 2013, EastEnders was regularly getting up to eight million viewers a night, but in the past year those figures have gone down to roughly 2.5 million an episode.
EastEnders airs on Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
