EastEnders SPOILER: Alfie Moon still tries desperately to win Kat Slater’s heart

Alfie Moon is still desperately trying to win Kat Slater’s heart in tense upcoming EastEnders episodes. 

In scenes that will air on Monday pictures show the Shane Richie actor, 58, making a grand gesture to Kat after she postponed her wedding to Phil Mitchell.

In previous episodes Alfie turned up at her house as she got ready for her nuptials and is now determined to win back the affections of his ex-wife, going to great lengths to demonstrate his love for her. 

As she walks into a room littered with flowers, Kat is overwhelmed at Alfie’s outpouring of love, but her happiness is short-lived when she realises where the flowers have come from

The wedding was thrown into chaos last week after Alfie made her return while Sharon Watts also made a last-ditch effort to win her ex-husband Phil back once again.

Once Alfie and Sharon timidly excused themselves on the big day, Kat and Phil had a tense conversation about whether their wedding day would actually go ahead.

Meanwhile, their guests decided to make full use of the reception.

The couple finally arrived to make a big announcement, with Kat revealing: ‘We’ve talked it through and we’ve set another date with the vicar, so consider yourselves invited!

‘There’ll be no surprises next time!’

Earlier this month, EastEnders fans were given their first glimpse at Shane’s much-anticipated return to the soap.

First look snaps showed the moment Alfie came face-to-face with his ex-wife Kat, ahead of her wedding to Albert Square hardman Phil.

Shane’s return to EastEnders was first confirmed back in July as fans eagerly wondered whether he would reunite with his on/off love Kat, three years after his last appearance on the soap. 

In the images, Alfie was seen waiting at Kat’s front door as she headed to the church clad in her wedding dress.

The bombshell moment no doubt left Kat stunned, as she prepared to tie the knot with Phil (Steve McFadden).

Shane also discussed his return during an interview with The Mirror, saying: ‘We sat down and he said, ”Listen, I’ve got this idea of bringing Alfie back,” and I said really?

‘Then he sold it to me said we want the old Alfie, because over the years there’s been all very different Alfies, and my favourite Alfie is from 2002 to 2005, look it up. That’s the Alfie we have got back.’ 

He went on: ‘So Chris [Clenshaw] was so instrumental, for telling me the long-term storyline with Alfie and it’s the old Alfie.’

While Alfie’s first scenes aired at the start of September, fans were given a tease of his return in July, when the former Queen Vic landlord was seen briefly on video call to his son Tommy (Sonny Kendall). 

Many viewers gushed it was ‘so good’ to see his face, as others bemoaned it had been ‘too long’.
