EastEnders have given fans a huge hint about the build-up to Sharon Watts’ Christmas wedding day horror, as Keanu Taylor pops the question.
In upcoming scenes, Sharon is forced to make a huge decision when Keanu stuns her with a surprise proposal, after weeks of romantic tension.
This story will prove to be a vital stepping stone in a long-running plot leading to Sharon’s wedding this Christmas, which was teased last month by revealing a mystery male character will die.
Viewers have been eagerly waiting to see whether Sharon will agree to take Keanu back after he fled the Square, but his attempts at regaining her love have ended in failure – will the pair finally give their relationship a chance?
In the upcoming episodes, Kat (Jessie Wallace), Sharon (Letitia Dean) and Phil (Steve McFadden) are preparing to host an opening event for Boxing Den.

Eager to impress Phil, Ben (Max Bowden) steps in at the last minute to take part in a demo as one of the boxers is taken ill, but it doesn’t go his way.
Keanu is downbeat as he’s dismissed by Sharon once again.
But after some words of encouragement from Sam, and Karen who begrudgingly shares her advice, Keanu (Danny Walters) makes a declaration of love at the gym and proposes to a horrified Sharon in front of stunned onlookers.
Later, Kat arrives and encourages Sharon to listen to her heart.
Sharon remains torn but a frank conversation with Sam convinces her to re-think and she invites Keanu over… will the pair give their romance another go?
The storyline could prove a vital development in the soap’s long-running plot leading to a shock death on Christmas Day.
In a flash-forward which aired last month, Denise (Diane Parish), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), Linda (Kellie Bright), Sharon, Stacey (Lacey Turner) and Suki (Balvinder Sopal) were seen surrounding a dead body, but the identity of the corpse and the killer were kept secret.
Viewers will have to wait 10 months to see exactly what unfolds on the Christmas Day episode, with each woman and the men in their lives set to undergo dramatic storylines that will explain the night’s drama.
