Jason Humphreys, 39, raped a 13-year-old girl he met online in April 2019

A truck driver who raped a 13-year-old girl while out on bail for sexual assault sickeningly told her ‘all you women are the same – youse are never satisfied’ as she pleaded for him to stop.

Jason Humphreys, 40, sexually assaulted the minor in the back of his truck after driving her to Eastern Creek in Sydney’s south-west in April 2019 and giving her methamphetamine.

He then kicked her out of the truck with no way for her to get home.

Humphreys first had consensual sex with the 13-year-old after picking her up from her home in the city’s inner-west before pinning her arms down and raping her.

The young girl agreed to see him after the pair met on the website ‘meetme.com’ and shared a series of long phone calls, The Inner-West Courier reported.

At the time of the assault, Humphreys was out on bail despite being charged with four counts including sexual intercourse without consent and intentionally choking a woman. Police had opposed bail at the time.

Humphreys, from Panania in Sydney’s inner south-west, was on Monday sentenced to four years and three months behind bars after being found guilty of sexual intercourse without consent in May.

He was acquitted of four similar charges.

The court heard the child molester told the 13-year-old ‘all you women are the same – youse are never satisfied’ during the horrifying ordeal.

The teenager sought refuge at a nearby business after the abuse and told a security guard Humphreys was just metres away in the truck where he assaulted her.

A psychologist’s report read out at his sentencing hearing at Sydney’s Downing Centre District Court said the 40-year-old showed no remorse for his offending.

Humphreys said ‘his only mistake was telling her to leave and not taking her home,’ according to the report.

The truck driver had denied the allegations and claimed the teenager fabricated the incident, Judge David Wilson said.

Today show host Karl Stefanovic was last year left fuming after it emerged the truck driver was out on bail at the time for allegedly sexually assaulting and choking a woman.

The TV host questioned why the alleged attacker Humphreys was released back into the community when he was already facing serious charges.

‘This case has really disturbed me…she could be our daughter,’ Stefanovic said.

‘We are trying to protect women, we are trying to protect our daughters, we are trying to protect our wives.

‘What do you have to say to parents like Ally and I? We’re just doing our best.’

Detective Superintendent John Kerlatec, who appeared on the show, could not comment on the specific case as the matter was before the courts at the time, but said police oppose bail when they can.

Ultimately it was up to the court to make the decision, he said.

NSW Attorney-General Mark Speakman said he had ordered an urgent transcript of the bail hearing.

‘Any allegations of child grooming and sexual assault are of immense concern,’ he said.
