An elderly couple married for 60 years have celebrated their extraordinary milestone – and they were joined by their entire bridal party.

Eddie Crawley was just 25 years old when he tied the knot with his wife Rita, then 21, in an intimate ceremony in 1957.

Surrounded by their groomsmen and bridesmaids, the Melbourne pair vowed to stay friends forever.

Fast forward six decades, the group have since kept their promise after they recently reunited to celebrate their incredible anniversary.

Appearing on 7 News, Mr Crawley said he ‘would not change her,’ before his wife cheekily responded: ‘I don’t know, would ya?’

Bringing his wife in for a loving embrace, the pair said they were reminiscing their special occasion with their children, grandchildren – and their entire bridal party.

‘We’re only going to a Chinese restaurant for tea… 26 of us,’ Mrs Crawley said.

The couple were joined by their bridesmaid Dot Jamieson and groomsman Alan Jamieson

Bridesmaid Dot Jamieson said: ‘I haven’t heard of any other bridal party that’s still alive at that age. Do you think, really? No it is rare, very rare.’ 

The loving couple also shared their secrets to a long-lasting marriage.

‘Tolerance… that’s what you have to have… Tolerance,’ Mrs Crawley said as her husband interjected: ‘Lots of arguments.’
