Eddie Izzard was treating herself to a break in Malaga, Spain and was pictured arriving at the airport on Wednesday. 

The 60-year-old was sporting a fresh platinum blonde pixie cut after previously rocking a ponytail. 

She was ready for summer wearing a pink patterned mini dress and Nike trainers, carrying a rucksack in hand.

Eddie – who is thought to be away for a couple of weeks – appeared in fine spirits and had a smile on her face as she hid her eyes behind sunglasses.  

The marathon-running comedian has said she prefers ‘she/her’ pronouns when she is in girl mode but is very relaxed about it.

In an interview with Radio Times, Eddie stated her gender is ‘elastic’.

The media personality explained: ‘I go in girl mode or boy mode, which I see as a superhero thing.’

Eddie - who is thought to be away for a couple of weeks - appeared in fine spirits and had a smile on her face as she hid her eyes behind sunglasses.

While discussing the use of pronouns, the activist also insisted: ‘It’s no big deal’ as she detailed in which circumstances she would be in different ‘modes.’     

Eddie revealed she was a transvestite nearly four decades ago, before considering herself as trans.

Appearing on Sky’s Portrait Artist of the Year last year, the writer was referred to as ‘she’ and ‘her’ and has now clarified that she is gender ‘elastic.’

The A Day in the Death of Joe Egg star added: ‘I go in girl mode or boy mode, which I see as a superhero thing.

‘On that show [Sky’s Portrait Artist of the Year], they asked what pronouns I preferred, and I said: “Well, I’m here in girl mode and if you’re asking, she and her would be great.” 

‘It’s no big deal. It’s elastic, not hard and fast. I’m still gender-fluid. I’m still performing male roles in dramas, in boring mode. 

‘But stand-up, activism and endurance running are all girl mode.’
