Eddie Murphy’s son ‘secretly’ marries Martin Lawrence’s daughter… after 6 month engagement

Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence are now in-laws.

Murphy’s son Eric, 35, and Lawrence’s daughter Jasmin, 29, secretly got married earlier this month after four years of dating. 

‘Actually, they got married, like, two weeks ago,’ Eddie said on Thursday’s episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show.

And it sounds like it was a quickie nuptial as there was no big party.

‘They went off and they got married at the church,’ the comedian said. ‘They just had the two of them and the preacher. They had a quiet little thing. So, I think we’ll have like a big party or something.’

This saves Eddie and Martin a ton of money. ‘Martin doesn’t have to pay for that big wedding now,’ Eddie joked, after previously saying his former costar needed to pay for the big day. 

Eric and Jasmin got engaged in late November 2024.

The love birds shared a video of the proposal to both of their Instagram accounts late last year.

‘11.27.2024. We’re engaged!! God truly blessed us with a love that feels like destiny. We couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter ❤️❤️,’ their caption began.

‘Special thank you to everyone who made this moment so beautiful!!’

In the video, Eric led Jasmin into a room filled with white rose petals and bouquets of pink and white roses.

The room was lined with candles and featured a large red heart on the wall. Eric got down on one knee and proposed and Jasmin said yes.

Last year Eddie opened up about how he feels about his son dating Martin’s daughter. 

The couple started dating during the summer of 2021 and Jasmin shared their relationship on an Instagram post for Eric’s birthday.

And while here are no details on how they met, it can be assumed that they’ve known each other for a long time.

Their fathers have been friends for years and worked together on the movies Boomerang and Life.

‘They’re both beautiful, they look amazing together,’ the Coming To America star said last year.

Murphy and Lawrence are even talking about their potential grandchildren.

‘And it’s funny, everybody’s like, “What is that baby gonna be funny?”‘ the star of the Netflix sequel to Beverly Hills Cop 4 said.

He continued, ‘Our gene pool is gonna make this funny baby.’ 

Eddie drove the point home, adding: ‘If they ever get married and have a child, I am expecting the child to be funny.’ 

Eric is the eldest child of Eddie and his former girlfriend, Paulette McNeely. He’s writer and voice actor.

Jasmin is the eldest daughter of Martin and his ex-wife Patricia Southall. She had a cameo in her dad’s most movie, Bad Boys For Life.
