EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Exes Donna Air and Damian Aspinall reunite for birthday trip with daughter Freya

After 16 years apart, could Donna Air and Damian Aspinall be rekindling their romance?

Actress Donna, 43, shared a picture of the pair, who dated for six years, enjoying a holiday in Marrakech with their daughter Freya, 19. In the caption she wrote: ‘With the Fam, weekend vibes.’

Last week, they also marked Damian’s 63rd birthday together. The wildlife park owner, who is the son of fugitive Lord Lucan’s chum John Aspinall, split from his wife of six years, Victoria Fisher, last November.

Last month it was revealed he had joined celebrity dating app Raya. He also has two daughters, Tansy, 33, and Clary, 31, with his first wife, Louise Sebag-Montefiore.

Perhaps Donna, whose relationship with the Princess of Wales’s brother James Middleton ended in 2017, would like to make it third time lucky for Damian?

Simply red for wine connoisseur Mick…

Mick Hucknall’s band is called Simply Red, owing to the singer’s ginger hair, but aptly he’s also rather fond of a glass of red or two.

The 62-year-old Mancunian even set up a winemaking estate in Sicily. He reckons having a penchant for expensive wines means you drink less, too.

‘I am not a heavy drinker,’ he tells the White Wine Question Time podcast. ‘Good wine is meant to be savoured; you don’t really glug it down.

‘I’ve found that having a passion for wine has moderated my alcohol intake.’

Does the same rule apply when it comes to Mick holding back the beers, I wonder?

Ukraine aid wins no thanks says ex-MP

Helping war-torn Ukraine is a thankless task for ex-MP Brooks Newmark (pictured)

Helping war-torn Ukraine is a thankless task for ex-MP Brooks Newmark.

‘I don’t think anyone in the UK has done more in Ukraine than I have,’ the former Tory minister for civil society tells me modestly.

Newmark, who has spent much of the past year travelling to and from the besieged nation to arrange evacuations, says: ‘No one in the Government has picked up the phone to me. You’d think somebody would say: ‘Hey, thanks.’

‘I’m flying the British flag out there. I’m not saying I’ve saved lots of lives, but I’ve protected some people from being injured, at least.’

If you’ve ever wondered why Louis Theroux always seems to wear the same sort of outfit, the truth could be worse than you thought.

‘I’m very averse to change; I’m one of those people who wears the same clothes,’ says the 53-year-old documentary maker. ‘If I’m lucky I’ll put some different socks and underwear on.’

I’m sad to report that Sir John Aird, 4th Baronet, who was a godson of King George VI and a page at Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation, has died at the age of 83.

He split his time between his farm in the Cotswolds and China, where he was a successful venture capitalist.

He leaves behind his second wife, Xiao Fen Wang; and his children with his late first wife Margaret Elizabeth Muir: daughters Rebecca and Belinda, and son Sir James John Aird, 5th Baronet.

The official Coronation quiche dish wasn’t received with much fanfare — and interior designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen agrees it was a bit bland.

The Changing Rooms star, 58, asks me: ‘Why didn’t they get the Great British Bake Off team to come up with something?’

Not sure the royals would have wanted to be associated with a soggy bottom, though.

Presenter and author Richard Osman favours an American sports-style approach to casting for ITV’s popular dating programme.

‘I’ll tell you what would be a huge hit show,’ says the 52-year-old former Pointless co-host. ‘The NFL Draft. But for places in the next Love Island line-up.’
