EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Naomi Campbell makes appearance at New York Fashion Week with mystery knee injury… and no clue as to the cause

Naomi Campbell once apologised for hitting her maid in the head with a mobile phone – but said it was an accident.

So I do hope the supermodel has not been the victim of an accident herself.

Campbell, 54, wore a bandage on her knee at New York Fashion Week’s front row, with the dressing shrouded in mystery.

‘She’s being very discreet about it and hasn’t told friends the cause of the injury,’ a source tells me.

The model was said to have had knee surgery in 2013 after she was mugged by two assailants who tried to steal her handbag in Paris.

‘Alexa’ dress is just the thing for… Alexa

There was no dilemma for ‘It-girl’ Alexa Chung over what to wear to her brother’s wedding.

As this picture shows, the television presenter, 40, chose a black maxi dress aptly named ‘Alexa’ for the wedding of Dominic Chung, who is global head of music at Soho House private members’ clubs, and society florist Christie Leigh (above) in Privett, Hampshire.

Alexa’s halter-neck dress was designed by Lebanese label Super Yaya and costs £1,690.

Her new sister-in-law Christie, a former model, has provided flowers for fashion labels including Dior, Burberry and Louis Vuitton.

‘It needs to be the perfect fit – kind of like a marriage,’ she says of her work. ‘I approach private events with more of an emotional side, and I like to collaborate through the whole process.’

The Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola plans to shoot his next film in the capital, for the saddest of reasons.

‘I want to do something that will be really fun,’ says the multiple Oscar winner, 85, whose wife, Eleanor, died in April.

‘I want to do it in London, one place I never went with my wife. I want to go somewhere that everywhere I turn, I don’t see her.’

Sir Tony Blair has swapped Oasis for Taylor Swift. ‘It’s fantastic,’ he tells Amol Rajan in a BBC interview. ‘What is actually fascinating is the number of these young women who are incredibly smart, and the quality of the lyrics today, I think, is as good as it’s ever been.’

High praise indeed from the former singer with student band Ugly Rumours.

A friend of Queen Elizabeth has attacked Sir Keir Starmer’s Government for drawing the Crown into politics.

Tory peer Lord (Greville) Howard – in the House of Lords on Monday – said Labour was ‘out of order and unconstitutional’ in changes it is making to the Crown Estate.

Under the proposals, the estate will be encouraged to borrow money to become more environmentally compliant. The plans involve the expansion of marine wind farms. ‘

The Crown is apolitical and the Crown Estate must surely come under this umbrella,’ said Lord Howard. Government Minister, Lord Livermore, insisted the changes were at the request of Crown Estate executives.
