EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Newly single Jerry Hall eyes up £6million property in Tinseltown

Some women might cheer themselves up after a sad divorce by splashing out on an expensive pair of shoes or a designer handbag.

With a £250 million divorce settlement burning a hole in her pocket, Jerry Hall has greater ambitions.

I hear the Texan model, and now ex-Mrs Rupert Murdoch, has been eyeing up properties in Tinseltown.

Hall, 66, was spotted looking at empty shops in West Hollywood. Dressed in a baby-blue jumper with navy trousers and carrying a light brown handbag, the ex of Rolling Stones singer Sir Mick Jagger is pictured inspecting a former antiques showroom, on the market for around £6 million.

Hall, who wore a pair of brown sunglasses, admired the 6,000 sq ft site from the outside, peered in through the windows and took a few photographs on her phone. She then took down the details of the estate agent in charge of the property before walking away.

The building was the main showroom of John Nelson Antiques, which was founded in 1965. The property was listed on the market earlier this year.

The firm sold high-end European antiques, chandeliers and accessories around the world. It’s not clear why Hall would be interested in buying a commercial property. Her spokesman declined to comment.

Hall, who has four children from a 23-year relationship with Jagger, parted ways with Murdoch, 91, after he ended their marriage via email in June.

She filed for divorce in July in Los Angeles, and Murdoch was served papers as he boarded a plane in the UK after attending his granddaughter’s wedding.

A deal was struck quickly and announced last month.

A joint statement confirmed the divorce, saying: ‘They remain good friends and wish each other the best for the future.’

Hall was first spotted with Murdoch in 2015 and the couple married in Fleet Street, London, in 2016.

The divorce settlement is thought to have awarded her two houses and up to £250 million, according to sources. However, insiders close to four-times-wed Murdoch insist the figure is nearer £50 million.

Hall was seen in good spirits last month as she landed in Los Angeles from Farnborough in Hampshire with her daughter Georgia May Jagger, 30. They appeared to disembark from Murdoch’s Gulfstream jet, suggesting the couple remain on friendly terms.

 Joss Stone: I miss Harry

Pop star Joss Stone laments that she’s lost touch with Prince Harry.

The Devon-raised singer, 35, became so involved with the organisation the Duke of Sussex co-founded to help African orphans — Sentebale — that she travelled to the continent to see its projects.

‘I went to Lesotho for Harry’s charity,’ she says. ‘I love that one and got deep into it. I hope I’ll see him again one day.’

Brian May relives his day of royal high anxiety

Queen guitarist Brian May recalls he was terrified when he played God Save The Queen solo live on the roof of Buckingham Palace during the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Celebrations — and that he broke royal protocol when she subsequently didn’t recognise him.

‘It was very, very frightening,’ he admits of the live televised performance in 2002. ‘[I thought] if I mess up God Save The Queen in front of a billion people [on TV], that will be what I am [remembered] for the rest of my life — the guy who messed up.’

Happily, he didn’t — and a few weeks later was presented to the monarch along with fellow guitar legends, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck.

‘There was a silence. And of course, protocol says you’re not allowed to open a conversation with the monarch, but I thought, someone has to say something.

‘So I said, ‘Very happy to meet you, Ma’am — I’m the guy who was standing on your roof.’ And she said, ‘Oh, that was you, was it?’ ‘

Her Majesty did invite him to her Platinum Jubilee bash nevertheless.

TV adventurer laid low by a scooter on his hols

He has walked the length of the Nile and the Himalayas, and been embedded with Iraqi troops fighting ISIS, but Levison Wood has been defeated by a scooter.

I hear the TV adventurer, 40, is recovering after being seriously injured in a road accident overseas.

‘Second time in emergency care this year, and not how I’d expected to end a holiday in Greece,’ the former Army officer laments. ‘Still, it could have been a lot worse, so I’m grateful for that, at least.

‘Fractured tibia and ankle, which required a big operation, so that’ll be my third limb filled with metal. Stay off the scooters on holiday, kids.’

Dashing Wood told me a while back that he was struggling in the daunting world of contemporary dating. He added: ‘I’m looking for a woman with a sense of adventure and a sense of fun — I’m not shallow.’

We never heard this in public, but the Queen was a gifted impressionist.

Sir William Heseltine, her long-serving private secretary, says she was ‘an excellent mimic’.

She did impressions of everyone from former Russian president Boris Yeltsin to the chambermaid with a Middlesbrough twang who discovered intruder Michael Fagan in the royal bedchamber in 1982: ‘Ooh, bloody ‘ell Ma’am , what’s ‘e doin’ ‘ere?’

 Princess surprise for MP

As an MP and, until last week a minister, Greg Hands has visited plenty of schools.

Every single time, at least one child asked if he had met the Queen. ‘Once, I turned the tables and asked the class if any of them had met the Queen,’ he reveals.

‘All of them put their hands up. I didn’t notice until much later that Princess Charlotte was in the class.’

The seven-year-old was a pupil at Thomas’s School in Battersea, London, before she started at Lambrook prep school in Berkshire last week.

Oscar-winner Ben Kingsley plays Salvador Dali in a new film and, I hear, the film has already run into trouble before it’s even released.

The makers of Daliland, due out this week, are being threatened with legal action by the Gala-Salvador Dali Foundation over its historical accuracy.

A spokesman for the filmmakers insists they didn’t need to speak to anyone as it ‘does not incorporate any material protected by copyright’.
