A man with a love of all things festive has turned his terraced home in a Christmas grotto for the past nine years in a row.

For David Brown in Bonnyrigg, Edinburgh, December is all about lighting up the faces of the people in his community.

Every year Mr Brown decks his home with Christmas lights, luminous statues, model reindeer and even Santa’s little elves.

But despite a no doubt spiraling electricity bill, he asks for not a single donation from visitors and instead encourages people to give a little to charitable causes.

Mr Brown even gets in on the festive act himself by pulling on the red and white suit of Saint Nick and leaving a box for children’s letters to the North Pole.
