A woman bit off her lover’s testicle in a bitter drug-fuelled rage when he refused to have a threesome.

Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard restaurant workers Nunzia Del Viscio, 43, and Marcello Palma, 44, had been drinking together in a nightclub before returning to his flat with two other friends.

But Del Viscio, who had taken a cocktail of drink and drugs, ripped Mr Palma’s testicle out of his scrotum with her teeth when he turned her down after she demanded a threesome.

When police arrived at Mr Palma’s flat in Edinburgh following the incident in May last year they found Del Viscio outside in the street with blood on her teeth and face.

She had injuries to her eyes and bruising on her face and told officers: ‘He hit me and I grabbed his balls’.

Police said Palma was ‘fairly distraught’, while his bedroom was in a state of disarray with pools of blood on the floor.

Sheriff Peter McCormack heard those involved in the incident were Italian nationals who were working in restaurants in Edinburgh and met up after work in a nightclub.

Mr Palma told the court he and Del Viscio later had a fight, adding: ‘She drew her head back and my testicle came out’.

Mr Palma told the court he and Del Viscio went back to his flat with their friends Massimo Torrice and Luisa Bragaglia ‘to keep the night going’ and have ‘sexual relations’.

Mr Palma had been in a sexual relationship with Del Viscio but when they got to his home, he and Luisa went to one bedroom and Massimo and Del Viscio went to another.

He said around 4am Del Viscio jumped on his bed naked and said she wanted a threesome because his friend was ‘no good in bed’.

He added: ‘I took her clothes and threw them at her. We were insulting each other and she came against me and bit my left testicle.
