  • Berizzo departs after Sevilla’s run of four games without a win in all competitions

Sevilla have sacked Eduardo Berizzo as manager following the team’s run of just one win from five matches in all competitions.

The club’s board have acted swiftly to relieve Berizzo of his duties just seven months after his appointment as manager to replace Jorge Sampaoli in May.

Berizzo only returned from prostate cancer surgery seven days ago after the club revealed he was battling the disease last month.

Sevilla announced Berizzo was suffering from cancer days before his side produced a spirited display that saw them recover from three goals down to draw 3-3 with Liverpool in the Champions League group stages.
