An eight-year-old boy has been airlifted to hospital in a serious condition after choking on his food at school.
The student lost consciousness after choking while eating at school in Wahroonga and was evacuated by the CareFlight Rapid Response Helicopter around 12.00pm.
The CareFlight Helicopter landed at nearby Knox Grammar School where NSW Police took the aeromedical crew to attend to the boy who was at a nearby school.

‘Paramedics were providing initial treatment to the boy and CareFlight’s clinical team incubated the boy and placed him in an induced coma to stabilise him,’ CareFlight said.
‘He was then airlifted in a serious but stable condition to the Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick under the ongoing care of CareFlight’s aeromedical crew.’
A spokesperson from Sydney Children’s Hospital told Daily Mail Australia that the boy’s condition was ‘improving rapidly.’
