A ‘kind and affable’ elderly couple have died of natural causes in their home, but were not discovered for weeks.
The pair, named locally as Alan, 78, and Frances Mount, 76, were found at a property in Ferriby Road, Hessle, Hull, after officers responded to a call raising concerns about their safety.
The circumstances surrounding their death are thought not to be suspicious and it is possible their bodies may have lay undiscovered for some time.

One neighbour, who did not want to be named, described the couple as ‘affable and kind’ people.
He said: ‘I had a few phone calls from the police this morning (yesterday).
‘They were asking when was the last time I’d spoken with my neighbours.
‘Well, it must’ve been two or three weeks. Our paths didn’t cross much.
‘I was told they’d both been found dead. They think it’s natural causes and that they’d been there a while. It’s just really sad.
‘You think, when this type of thing happens, that you could have done more.’

A spokesman for Humberside Police said: ‘On arrival officers found a man and woman inside the house who had sadly died.
‘Inquiries are underway but initial indications are that their deaths are not suspicious.’
