Shocking CCTV footage has emerged showing a disgusting mugging of an elderly woman on a street in broad daylight.

The attack was carried out yesterday on Southfield Road in the Great Horton area of Bradford.

Footage shows the woman walking down the street with a man in a white hooded jacket following behind her.

Suddenly the man grabs hold of the woman’s bag as he attempts to steal it, but the woman refuses to let go.

The man pulls on the bag, leaving the woman to fall onto the cobbled road.

As he continues to try and pull the bag from her, the mugger viciously kicks her as she lies on the ground.

He eventually escapes with the bag as the woman is left lying motionless on the floor.

The disgusting footage has gone viral with over 300,000 views after the woman’s son uploaded the footage to Facebook.

Ian Fearnley posted the footage and said: ‘So this is my mum in the video. Please share the f**k out of it and get this scumbag caught. 

‘Happened on southfield lane (sic), great horton. Bradford just after lunch today.’

West Yorkshire Police have since confirmed a 30-year-old man has been arrested following the incident.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: ‘Police have arrested a 30-year-old man following a robbery involving an elderly female in the Great Horton area of Bradford yesterday.

‘He remains in custody at this time and inquiries are continuing.’
