Ellen DeGeneres was seen stepping out with a friend in Santa Barbara on Friday afternoon.

The 63-year-old television personality was smiling while speaking with her pal before the two made it to their car and peeled off into the vacation destination’s sunny streets.

The talk show host’s appearance was the first time she had been seen in public after Drew Barrymore praised Dakota Johnson for calling her out over a feud regarding her birthday party.

DeGeneres sported a bright red flannel shirt that was offset by a slightly distressed pair of blue jeans.

The daytime television mainstay also sore a pair of bright white sneakers that added a little bit of brightness to her outfit.

Her platinum blonde hair paired well with the darker tones of her outfit and she accessorized with a pair of green-tinted sunglasses.

At one point, the media personality donned a white facial covering to keep herself protected from COVID-19 during her time in public.

DeGeneres’ outing comes not long after Barrymore and Johnson spoke about the latter’s infamous 2019 appearance on the host’s program, during which she called the personality out for no-showing at her birthday party.

The television figure broached the topic by asking the now-32-year-old actress, ‘How was the party? I wasn’t invited.’

The Fifty Shades franchise star corrected the comedian’s statement, and pointed out that she had in fact sent an invitation and that she had been castigated for her perceived behavior in the past.

‘Actually, no, that’s not the truth, Ellen, you were invited. Last time I was on the show…you gave me a bunch of s*** about not inviting you, but I didn’t even know you wanted to be invited,’ she said.

The performer also made a point of telling the host, ‘I didn’t even know you liked me.’

DeGeneres quickly took a defensive stance on the subject and asked Johnson: ‘You’ve been on the show many times and don’t I show like?’

The actress reiterated that she had sent an invitation to the comedian, stating: ‘but I did invite you and you didn’t come, so.’

When the show’s host inquired if the actress was sure about what she was saying, the Suspiria cast member told her to ‘ask everybody,’ which generated a strong response from the studio audience.

Johnson eventually appeared on an episode of The Drew Barrymore Show that aired earlier this month, and the pair discussed how, although the actress lives near Jimmy Kimmel and his family, she is not a familiar face at their gatherings.

The performer noted that the late-night show host and his wife ‘have a lot of parties but they don’t invite me.’

Barrymore then referenced her guest’s past interview with DeGeneres and noted that the comedian received much bad press for her statements during the sit-down.

‘Is this for real? Because people have gotten in trouble for claiming [about] not being invited to your parties,’ she said.

When Johnson flashed a knowing smile, the 50 First Dates actress commented that her guest’s actions were ‘amazing, by the way. Like, amazing.’
