Dutch cyclist Ellen van Dijk is given a bizarre X-rated set of gifts for winning a time trial, including a SEX TOY, Karma Sutra playing cards, lubricant and a blindfold… with the Dutch cyclist joking ‘prizes in women’s cycling are improving’

Dutch cyclist Ellen van Dijk was able to see the funny side after causing a buzz online by revealing she had been given a vibrator, lubricant and a blindfold by sponsors EasyToys following a time trial win in her native Holland.
Van Dijk, a world time trial champion, came out on top during the opening time trial stage of the Bloeizone Fryslân, formerly known as the Healthy Ageing Tour.
While victory was sweet it was the X-rated prize she was to receive later which stole all of the headlines.

She was still able to see the funny side as she showed fans what she had won on social media
‘Prizes in women’s cycling are improving,’ she tweeted, along with a photo of the pink shoebox filled with various sex toys.
‘You can leave tips on how to use it in the comments.’
Along with the satin blindfold, playing cards, lubricant and vibrator, there was also the less familiar ‘play socks’ which drew a raised eyebrow from her fans.
It perhaps should have come as little surprise that a competition sponsored by an erotic website company went with a riskier prize than normal.
Many of the cyclists’s dans did not see the funny side like she had and took aim at the crass prizes.
‘That can’t be true. It’s outrageous!! You have to file a report,’ one outraged fan wrote.

‘What other sport would give that as a prize? Disrespectful,’ another added.
Women’s cycling has a history of going rogue when it comes to awarding sponsorship prizes.
Back in 2015, Jolien D’Hoore, an old rival of Van Dijk’s, was awarded a vacuum cleaner after winning the Ronde van Drenthe.
EasyToys has previous in the sporting world after they caused a storm in getting blocked by the Dutch Football Federation from appearing on the shirts of FC Emmen.
Following that ban, which was eventually overturned, EasyToys set up an X-Rated inflatable outside the club’s stadium with two legs in high heels protruding either side of the main entrance.
