Ellie Aitken seen at ex-husband’s house as she moves on with fund manager

Sydney socialite Ellie Aitken has been pictured for the first time since it was revealed she is dating Bahamas-based fund manager Mark Holowesko.

Ms Aitken’s life was turned upside down in late 2021 when her husband Charlie Aitken, a high-profile investment banker, ran off with her best friend Hollie Nasser – ending two marriages in the process.

The couple confirmed their split several months later, in May 2022.

In her first public sighting since she attended a fashion even in London in November with former foreign minister Julie Bishop, Ms Aitken was seen outside her estranged husband’s home in Vaucluse, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

With her blonde hair pulled back in a ponytail, she wore a ‘Life’ T-shirt, black leggings and sneakers, and accessorised with a gold bracelet and diamond earrings.

Ms Aitken stepped out of her luxury car and headed inside the house carrying a designer handbag and a plastic bag filled with groceries.

It’s unclear why she was visiting her ex’s home, but it is not believed the couple, who share two children, have reconciled.

It comes as Ms Aitken is said to be romancing Mark Holowesko, the founding partner and CEO of Holowesko Partners Ltd, a premier global equity firm.

The two were seen enjoying a cosy meal at China Doll in Woolloomooloo in late March.

Mr Holowesko, who is a former Olympian and champion sailor, has also made frequent visits to Sydney over the past six months.

A source told the Australian Financial Review the pair are ‘loved-up and smitten’.

Ms Aitken and Mr Holowesko have known each other for years, the insider said, but grew closer over the past year while she has been building her own funds-distribution business in the Bahamas.

Ms Aitken marriage fell apart towards the end of 2021 when it was revealed her husband Charlie was having an affair with her close friend Hollie Nasser.

The move caused scandal in the tight-knit eastern suburbs, particularly since Hollie was not only Ellie’s best friend, but married to Charlie’s business partner Christopher.

‘The truth is that despite the support of friends and family I have not coped well with the deeply hurtful lies, gossip and innuendo that has surrounded the breakdown of my relationship,’ Ellie said in a statement in December that year.

At the time, she announced she would be ‘taking a break from social media’ and public view while she and her family adjusted to the separation and her estranged husband’s new relationship.

‘I had attempted to put on a brave face and tried to manage my feelings and wellbeing despite the fact that I have not had any control over the reasons for my sorrow,’ she said.

Despite the drama, the Aitkens tried to remain on good terms throughout the separation for the sake of their two children.

In May 2021, Daily Mail Australia revealed Hollie and Charlie had quietly parted ways, noting the public pressure was too much for them to bear.

Hollie later confirmed the news to Sunday Confidential, saying in a statement the relationship was over and she was focusing on her children.

‘With regards to my private life, my focus is my daughters [and] I have chosen not to be in a relationship,’ she said.

She went on to praise her estranged husband Christopher Nasser, saying the two were working together to co-parent their children.

‘Chris has always been a loving and devoted father. We are working together to co-parent our children,’ she said.

She also reflected on having her affair thrust into the spotlight.

‘The past nine months have been very difficult and I have expressed my apologies to my family and others involved,’ she said.
