Elon Musk blasted by sacked Space X staff

US officials have filed a complaint that his rocket company, Space X, violated workers’ rights after employees criticised Twitter posts made by the company’s founder.

Some staff sent a letter to executives in 2022 protesting about ‘Musk’s repeated conduct of issuing inappropriate, disparaging, sexually charged comments on Twitter’, saying his behaviour was ‘a frequent source of distraction and embarrassment’.

But a national labour relations board filing made public this week, said Space X prevented the letter from being distributed, and fired staff. Worker Paige Holland-Thielen, said: ‘At Space X the rockets may be reusable but the people who build them are treated as expendable.

‘I’m hopeful these charges will hold Space X and its leadership accountable for their long history of mistreating workers and stifling discourse.’

A trial has been set for March 5.
