Elon Musk leads MAGA fury at Europe for giving Marine Le Pen the ‘Trump treatment’ by ‘abusing’ legal system

Top MAGA media figures and billionaire Elon Musk criticized a breaking court ruling Monday against populist nationalist French political figure Marine Le Pen that prevents her from running for public office.

Le Pen was sentenced to four years in prison — two years suspended and two under house arrest and was fined €100,000 for misusing European Parliament funds to cover party expenses.

‘When the radical left can’t win via democratic vote, they abuse the legal system to jail their opponents,’ Musk wrote on X. ‘This is their standard playbook throughout the world.’

Le Pen leads the National Rally (RN) party in France, that has only grown in political power in recent years, threatening to upset the current liberal leaning order of the country’s government.

She was currently leading in opinion polls in advance of a presumed run for the 2027 election in France.

Musk shared an X post of journalist Mike Benz, who noted that other right-leaning political figures in other countries faced a similar fate: Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil, Imran Khan in Pakistan, Matteo Salvini in Italy, and Calin Georgescu in Romania.

‘The criminal prosecution of every populist challenger is a dagger in the heart of the credibility of democracy,’ Benz noted, sharing a DailyMail article of the Le Pen news.

‘France is sending le Pen to jail and barring her from running?!’ exclaimed Donald Trump Jr. on X. ‘Are they just trying to prove JD Vance was right about everything?’

‘Marine Le Pen is CURRENTLY the front runner to be the next President of France if they held the elections today. So what did the left in France do?,’ wrote activist Robby Starbuck on X. ‘They just banned her from running and sentenced her to 4 years in prison on BS charges.’ 

‘Marine Le Pen, the frontrunner in the next French presidential election has been banned from running,’ wrote Allum Bokari. ‘This is the playbook they’re running around the world. They tried like hell to do it to Trump too, and almost succeeded. Europe is slipping deeper into tyranny.’
