Elton John speaks out after screaming at fan to ‘f**k off’

He shocked concertgoers this week when he was seen screaming at a fan to ‘f**k off’ before storming at the stage.

Yet Sir Elton John has revealed what lead to the outburst during Friday night’s show at the Colosseum in Las Vegas, explaining that he was ‘disrupted’ while performing.

The 70-year-old singer said in a statement: ‘Last night in Las Vegas a fan put his hands on the piano keys while I was playing and continued to do so even after I asked him to stop.’

Sir Elton continued: ‘He then proceeded to reach over the piano and try to take pictures, completely disrupting the performance.

‘I bring fans onstage every evening when we play Saturday Night in the set, it is always a lovely part of the show where I get to meet them, shake their hands and have them right there with me while I play.

‘They have always been very courteous to the fact we are in the middle of playing a song live. This guy was rude, disruptive and had no care or respect for our show and so I let him know how I felt, then left the stage until they had removed him.’

Footage of Sir Elton’s outburst was released on Friday, which saw the star mouth at one fan to ‘f**k off’ in between the lyrics, luckily not being picked up on his mic.

It occurred whilst he attempted to belt out his hit Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting – known to be a bouncy crowd pleaser – whilst concertgoers gathered around the piano.

The men persisted in trying to reach over and touch their idol, but Sir Elton wasn’t having any of it.

This ended in him completing the track and immediately spinning in his chair to storm off stage in a huff, leaving the congregation of fans to awkwardly amble back down into the crowd.

He re-emerged shortly after a cool down backstage, but told fans that they had to stay off the stage.

‘No more coming on stage during Saturday Night. You f**ked it up!’ he said before bursting into a rendition of Lion King smash hit Circle Of Life.

This suggests the incident has caused Sir Elton to re-think inviting fans on-stage for the song going forward.

According to The Mirror, one concertgoer, Matthew Jay, said: ‘Holy s**t Elton John just stormed the f**k off stage.

‘During Saturday Night they brought a ton of people on stage, and one guy wouldn’t stop touching him. He went off mic and clearly mouthed f**k off twice and then pushed his hand.

‘He left, and they cut the song short and ushered everyone off stage and escorted the guy out of the building.’

Earlier in the year, Sir Elton broke the news that this tour will be his last.

He is now on a 300-date worldwide Farewell, Yellow Brick Road World Tour, which  continues through to 2020.
