Elyse Knowles claimed on Thursday that she is living in a ‘run-down house’ in Byron Bay, while her nearby dream home is being renovated. 

But a glimpse at Elyse temporary accommodation seems to confirm the old saying, ‘One man’s trash is another man’s treasure’. 

Daily Mail Australia can reveal the Myer ambassador and her boyfriend Josh Barker live in a four-bedroom home worth $1.9million.

Located just 10 minutes’ walk from Tallow Beach, the quaint property boasts three double bedrooms, wide verandas and a self-contained studio apartment upstairs. 

Elyse will have plenty of space to practice her catwalk skills thanks to the home’s open-plan living room and kitchen area. 

Downstairs features a large fire pit, rock walls and timber flooring, while the upstairs apartment is furnished with polished concrete floors and large timber decks overlooking a private garden.

Despite all this, the former reality star described her abode as a ‘run-down house’ during an interview with Women’s Health Magazine on Thursday. 

Revealing that she will be trading her glamorous city digs for Byron Bay as she waits for her new permanent home to be built, saying: ‘We will be living in another run-down house.’  

She went on to say she was worried as to how she would juggle her modelling career and media commitment along with the demands of a new build.  

On Tuesday, Elyse took to her personal blog to write a lengthy post as to why she wanted to swap her busy city life for the serene natural beauty of Byron Bay.

She said that ‘change can bring opportunity’ and she was looking forward to finding ‘fresh beginnings and a new perspective’ on life.
