She was awarded an MBE in a ceremony with Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace on Thursday.

And Emeli Sandé celebrated with her Black Panther co-stars Danai Gurira and Lupita Nyong’o at the film’s Afterparty held at the Corinthia Hotel, in London in the evening.

The Black Panther beauty, 30, was a vision when she donned chic pajamas-style Co-Ords in black edged with an ivory white stripe.

Songstress Emeli accessorised with shimmering dangling earrings and she scraped her golden locks into an up-do hairstyle for a dramatic style.

The songwriter added a splash of colour to her all-black ensemble as she wore a bold shade of red lipstick.

Emeli stars alongside Danai and Lupita in 2018 movie Black Panther which tells the story of King T’Challa who returns home to a technologically advanced nation.

Earlier on Thursday, the Scottish singer was undoubtedly thrilled to add The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire to her string of awards. 

Speaking in a Twitter video, ahead of the ceremony, she said: ‘What’s important to me is that I can represent you and make you feel empowered. I want you to feel that nothing is impossible.

‘Thank you so much for making this ridiculously ambitious dream a reality and I pray that I can play a part in making your wildest dreams come true.’

Emeli, who was born in Sunderland to Zambian father Joel Sande and English mother Diane Sande, has had a string of hits including two UK number one singles.

The musician, who hails from Aberdeenshire, was named Brit Awards Critics’ Choice winner for 2012.

In the same year, the singer performed at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in London.

She has also taken part in the charity singles Do They Know It’s Christmas? (2014), recorded to raise funds for the Ebola crisis in west Africa, and Bridge Over Troubled Water in response to the Grenfell Tower fire tragedy.
