As a leading Brexiteer who parted ways with not one but two political parties last year, Andrew Bridgen is no stranger to difficult break-ups.
Now I can reveal that the controversial MP has split from his wife of seven years, the glamorous Serbian opera singer Nevena Bridgen.
The politician – who was booted out of the Conservative Party last year for likening Covid vaccines to the Holocaust – told me: ‘I can confirm that Nevena and I are separated.’
He would not be drawn further on the break-up, saying it has nothing to do with his public life, but said it was ‘disappointing that my private life is worthy of newspaper headlines’ when his theories on vaccines are not.

He added: ‘I’ll be making no further comment.’
Mr Bridgen, 59, hammered home the breakdown by blocking his 43-year-old wife on social media after she made some pointed responses to his tweets. ‘Ladies and Gentlemen, the truth teller and free speech advocate Andrew Bridgen,’ she responded sarcastically.
The pair married in 2017 and share a five-year-old son. Nevena previously ran a tell-all blog about politicians’ wives and has said Westminster is ‘full of traps and temptations’.
Mr Bridgen – who was briefly in Laurence Fox’s Reclaim party after leaving the Tories, but resigned in December – was previously married to Jackie, a Tory councillor in his Leicestershire constituency, but they divorced in 2012.
He’s also been involved in a long-running dispute with his family vegetable business AB Produce, which led to him and Nevena being forced out of their £1.5 million home in 2022 after a judge branded him ‘dishonest’, ‘abusive’ and ‘arrogant’.
