EMILY PRESCOTT: Phone tycoon Ross loses his connection with society artist Antonia

Their two-year romance was the talk of the town, but artist Antonia Showering and Carphone Warehouse founder David Ross have now called it quits.

I can reveal that the pair, who welcomed a baby boy earlier this year, have told family and friends about their break-up, although their only public declaration has been to unfollow each other on social media. It is understood that the newborn has not taken David’s surname but the couple continue to be devoted parents.

Artist Antonia, 31, a scion of the Babycham dynasty, was first romantically linked with the 58-year-old mobile phone tycoon in 2021. They were occasionally spotted enjoying cosy dinners at London’s finest restaurants and spent much of their time together holed up at Nevill Holt, the multi-millionaire’s stately home in Leicestershire.

Last July, I revealed that they were expecting their first child together and it appeared that the pair’s relationship was on solid ground, with their shared love of art being a strong bond between them.

However, throughout their relationship, which they tried to keep largely out of the spotlight, they had faced some scrutiny over their notable age gap, with David being just a year younger than Antonia’s father.

Shortly before they had started dating, David was also embroiled in a political row when he gifted Boris Johnson a £15,000 holiday to Mustique. However, the then Prime Minister was cleared of breaching the code of conduct over the financing of the luxury holiday.

The businessman, who has amassed an estimated £700 million fortune, was also said to have enjoyed his status as one of Britain’s most eligible bachelors. Not long before dating Antonia, he fathered a son with Cecilie Fredriksen, 39, the Norwegian-born daughter of billionaire shipping tycoon John Fredriksen.

Neither Antonia, who previously dated Game Of Thrones star Alfie Allen, nor David responded to an approach for comment last night.
