Emma Freud got ‘revenge’ on her brother Matthew after he won an Oscar for Best Animated Short Film for The Boy, The Mole, The Fox And The Horse.
The 61-year-old producer, from London, took to her Instagram @emmafreud by only posting snaps of Matthew with his eyes closed.
Emma, who has collaborated with her partner Richard Curtis on all his films, including Love Actually, joked that she needed to get ‘revenge’ because she’s spent 32 years making films and ‘no Oscars.’
She quipped: ‘He makes one and gets a ducking Oscar. I am only going to post photos of him with his eyes shut, as lame British revenge.’
She began the hilarious slew of snaps by posting a picture yawning, in her white and pink striped pyjamas, she wrote: ‘Promised my brother I would wait up to see if he won an Oscar. Bit tired now.

In another snap looking a bit more excited she wrote: ‘It’s his category next!
Emma then proudly shared a photo of her brother, who is the head of Freud Communications, collecting his Oscar alongside British artist Charlie Mackesy on stage at the 95th Academy Awards.
She quipped: ‘Oh for actual f*** sake he won, my ridiculous little bro.
Sharing a screen grab of Matthew with his eyes closed, she joked: ‘We spend 32 years making films and no Oscars.
‘He makes one and gets a ducking Oscar. I am only going to post photos of him with his eyes shut, as lame British revenge.’
Freud said as he accepted the award: ‘I’ve never made a film before, so this is bewildering.
‘I know the protocol is to say thank you a lot, but I’m British, so I’m more comfortable saying sorry. So I’m really sorry to all the people who should be on this stage with us.

Freud closed by quipping that he was ‘also really sorry to my children, my girlfriend and my colleagues at Freuds for basically being absent over the last two years.’
The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse is a 2019 picture book by Charlie Mackesy that was later adapted into a short film.
The hand-animated film tells the adorable story of four animals traveling through snowy landscapes, learning from each other.
The Apple TV production shows the true definition of friendship, kindness, life and hope.
Matthew collected his Oscar alongside British artist Charlie Mackesy on stage at the 95th Academy Awards
Voice actors for the characters include some of the industry’s best-known personalities such as Jude Coward Nicoll, Tom Hollander, Idris Elba and Gabriel Byrne.
Along with Jon Croker, Mackesy co-wrote the screenplay which is based on his popular book.
The 2019 book, which was based on illustrations Mackesy shared on Instagram, has sold more than 8 million copies worldwide since it was first published.
