Emma Roberts Hair Color: Tips For Going Blonde

Going blonde is not always easy – even if you’re a celebrity with access to the top colorists in the business.

This weekend, Emma Roberts debuted an icy blonde bob that’s sure to land on many hair-spiration boards on Pinterest.

The Scream Queens actress’ colorist Riawna Capri revealed on Instagram that it took three appointments to achieve the bright shade that she’s calling ‘champagne pop’.

Smart blonde: To avoid damage, Emma Roberts’ colorist took her hair from brown to blonde over the course of three appointments in nearly two months

The process: Emma was a brunette until August 3 (pictured) and later stepped out with visible roots as she transitioned her hair to blonde

‘It’s near impossible to get that perfect blonde in one appointment. Clients, be patient with your stylist! Healthy, beautiful color takes time!,’ the hair pro said.

Riawna has been working on taking Emma back to blonde since the beginning of August when her hair was dark brown and long.

Since then, Emma has been spotted with a buttery blonde bob and dark roots.

In addition to transitioning to a lighter color over time, Riawna recommends getting frequent trims to ensure the health of the hair.

The real deal: Although some thought Kim Kardashian's, 36, icy platinum make-over was a wig, she revealed her colorist spent 17 hours lightening her dark hair

The reality star, who went from dark brown to a silver white hue at the beginning of September, said on her app that it took hairstylist Chris Appleton 17 hours to make the change.

‘The last time I went platinum, a few years back, I dyed it in one sitting and never gave it the proper time. So this time, I sat there 12 hours straight. Then, we did another 5-hour session. In the end, SO worth it,’ she revealed.

Kim waited a week between sessions with ‘yellow hair’ and conditioned it everyday.
