Emma Roberts is missing new bangs as she hits DMV

She debuted a dramatic new haircut on a red carpet last week.

But perhaps the bangs were an American Horror Story for Emma Roberts.

The 26-year-old actress was without the fringe as she shared photos from a drama-filled day at the Department of Motor Vehicles on Tuesday.

No doubt the selfies were a bit confusing from her diehard fans as her hair was completely different from her appearance at the Critics Choice Awards on Thursday.

Bang, they’re gone: Emma Roberts was without her bangs as she shared photos from a drama-filled day at the Department of Motor Vehicles on Tuesday

Roberts, who wore a light blue sweater, sent the internet into total chaos when she walked alongside boyfriend Evan Peters at the award show.

But now, it seems like the bangs might have just been clip-on hair pieces meant to be worn temporarily.

They’re the perfect way to try on a new hairstyle without actually losing any length.

Better days: The 26-year-old actress seemed to have a stressful day although her hair looked fantastic

Mirco bangs: The blonde stunner was the talk of the Critics Choice Awards red carpet when she showed up with a new hairdo

No what side of the fence fans were on, there’s no doubt that it was the shock of the retro look that stunned fans and critics alike.

There’s no doubt that the lack of bangs will also cause social media to explode with theories.

Maybe the positive responses might be enough to encourage the New York native to really commit to the look.

Ouch: No doubt it was not a fun experience as she shared a picture from the DMV with 'drama' written over it

And although it’s not evident what was causing the Roberts so much drama at the DMV, surely most people would agree it’s not a place to look forward to visiting.

With the long lines, terrible lighting and customer service that makes the dentists awesome look exciting…it’s safe to assume that her visit was as bad as it is for most regular folks.

Hopefully her photo came out stunning and she can put the whole stressful experience behind her.
