Her icy blue eyes pop against her pin-straight dark hair as the mesmerizing A-lister looks straight forward at the viewer.

In addition to the Easy A’s star departure from her signature look, the talented actress also flaunts a luminescent blue gown in the poster.

She’s co-starring in the film along other notable names like Mark Ruffalo and Willem Dafoe, who share top billing with her on the poster.

The film, being billed as a ‘surrealist adventure’ by Searchlight Pictures, is set to premiere in theaters on December 8th, 2023.

Poor Things will be Emma’s first major film role since 2021’s Cruella.

An official trailer for Poor Things revealed that the Arizona-born actress’s Poor Things character, Bella Baxter, was resurrected by her guardian, Dr. Baxter (Willem Dafoe) after Bella died by suicide.

Men in the trailer are perplexed by Bella’s eccentric behavior, with Dr. Baxter explaining that ever since he brought her back to life, Bella’s head and body haven’t been in sync.

The 55-year-old Avengers: Endgame star appears in the film as Bella’s new paramour, Duncan Wedderburn.

Against Dr. Godwin’s wishes, Bella runs off with Duncan, eager to explore a whole new world and find her independence, according to the trailer.

Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, who previously directed Emma and Olivia Colman in The Favorite, Poor Things is set to initially debut at the Venice International Film Festival, which takes place from this Wednesday to Saturday, September 9th.

The Help star noted in a ‘Bella’ feature from Searchlight Pictures that, ‘The more autonomous Bella becomes, the more challenged men seem to be by it.’

She revealed that she, ‘wanted to play Bella because it felt like acceptance of what it is to be a woman.’
