Emmerdale fans urged Lydia Dingle to tell someone about rapist Craig Reed as the rest of the villagers remained oblivious to her torment during Tuesday’s episode.

Previously, viewers were shocked to watch the ‘brutal’ scenes which saw Craig (Ben Addis) force himself on the cleaner (Karen Blick) despite her protests.

Lydia, who suffered a baby loss with Craig when they were teenagers, was shocked to see him return to the village originally but then soon bonded over their past.

During the scenes, the businessman gifted his victim a bouquet of flowers for her ‘hard work’ at his office, which left her more distressed.

Tormented Lydia then lashed out at her friends and family at the mention of the rapists name, but still hasn’t reported him.

Sharing their thoughts on Twitter, one fan wrote: ‘Hate to say it but I’m losing a little patience with Lydia now, just say something to someone.’

‘For goodness sake, Lydia, tell someone, for crying out loud. Why suffer this torment,’ another added.

A third person posted: ‘God I wish Lydia would just say what’s happened to her I know she’s been through something horrible but she doesn’t need to be snapping all the time.’

Someone else penned: ‘I wished we could’ve seen Lydia reporting Craig immediately (yes I know she’s still in shock) be better than watching him pretend that everything is fine.’

In a previous episode, Lydia ordered a taxi to her house and said she would like to go to the police station after being raped by her childhood friend Craig.

But was then seen running through the woods with a large bag of clothes, after changing her mind.

She then proceeded to lay them out on the ground and set them on fire before breaking down in tears.

Viewers were horrified by her actions as now the clothes she had on during the attack can’t be used as evidence.

On Monday, Lydia took her ex to the bridge where she scattered baby Toby’s ashes with Craig later suggesting: ‘Maybe we can make a regular thing of it?’

‘Like, on his birthday, take him a toy or some flowers so he’ll know his parents are always thinking of him.’

Karen said that her friend gave her the precious stones to carry around during filming: ‘I found it was a useful ritual to absorb some of the negative energy and some of the thoughts, feelings, emotions around the scene.
