Emmerdale’s fans ‘work out’ Tom King’s ulterior motive with Belle Dingle after his explosive return to the Dales

Emmerdale fans think Tom King has an ulterior motive after he walked back into his ex Belle Dingle’s life.

On Wednesday’s episode, Tom (James Chase) declared his love for Belle, leaving her stunned.

Tom recently made a comeback to the Dales, having last set foot in the village in 2013 where he terrorised the locals in the wake of his dad’s death.

Tom and Belle caught up at the pub where she invited him to her house for a movie night.

Thrilled by the idea of the proposed date, Tom told her: ‘You Belle Dingle are absolutely perfect, I couldn’t love you more.’

Belle looked a little uncomfortable by the declaration of love as it was said so soon after rekindling their romance.

And viewers weren’t convinced, with some taking to social media to share their theories Tom is really back in the Dales for revenge.

One wrote on Twitter: ‘Still think there is something not right with this Tom King. Think he has some kind of revenge in mind.’

Another added: ‘Tom is not good for Belle’s mental health, not yet anyway…he’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Stay friends it’s far less complicated for you.’

‘Wtf is Tom upto?! He’s being too happy and nice!’, a different viewer typed. Another wrote: ‘Tom saying the word Love to Belle already. Slow down Tom. What is he hiding? And why does he want to move so fast?’

Some viewers even think Tom may embark on an affair with Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) after a flirty exchange between the pair.

Tom has made a comeback after causing chaos when he was last in the village.

The teen, at the time played by Mark Flanagan, left Chas Dingle terrified as he stalked her for her part in his father’s death – she had initially struck him with a brick before Cameron Murray returned to deliver the killer blow.

He also began a relationship with Belle with the two planning on running away together causing Belle’s late mum Lisa to ring the police fearing he’d abducted her – before Thomas eventually changed his mind.

The two had been growing close while they cared for their poorly son Reuben, with Mack going on to promise his commitment to the tot who has been given the all clear.

Despite being village enemies after Mack’s wife Charity Dingle learned he was the father of Chloe’s baby, the two were bolstered by their growing friendship and Chloe made a move as Mack left her off at her house.

But awkwardly for Chloe, he pulled away when she tried to kiss him goodbye.

Emmerdale is on at 7pm this week on ITV and ITVX- an earlier time due to the live Britain’s Got Talent live semi-finals.
