Emmerdale star Mark Jordon was arrested over accusations that he attacked a pensioner and bit him on his face after a row in a pub.

Jordon, 53, allegedly chased the 67-year-old man and his partner to their car after clashing inside the Farrars Arms pub in Oldham, Greater Manchester.

The actor, who plays Daz Spencer on the soap, allegedly followed the OAP and his partner down a country lane as they made their way home.

Jordon then launched a vicious attack on the pensioner, coming at him like a ‘wild animal,’ the alleged victim told The Sun.

An off-duty officer reportedly intervened and called police to the scene.

‘He was like a wild animal. He bit me three times and went for my eye,’ the man, who did not want to be identified, told the newspaper.

A source added that the alleged victim was taken to hospital after ‘a chunk was bitten out of his hand.’

The pensioner’s partner later told The Sun that she was knocked to the ground during the altercation.

She said her partner had the wound in his thumb stitched up, but it later became infected.

Jordon, who is in a relationship with his co-star Laura Norton, has previously starred as a police officer in ITV’s Heartbeat.

Police said a 53-year-old was held on suspicion of assault before being released as inquiries continue.

An ITV spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘This is a personal matter.’
