An Emory University lecturer screamed ‘I’m a professor’ after cops forcefully took her to the ground during her arrest at a Gaza solidarity protest on campus.

Economics professor Caroline Fohlin was wrestled to the concrete by a cop after she tried to intervene during the arrest of another demonstrator.

The academic, 57, was among the faculty arrested at a pro Palestine encampment at the Georgia college on Thursday, which was dispersed by cops using tear gas and rubber bullets.

Shocking video shows her being gripped by the arms by an officer who repeatedly barks at her to get on the ground.

The distressed teacher yells ‘stop it’ and wriggles out of his grasp before backing away with her hands up.

As she steps back, the cop lunges for her again, grabbing both her wrists and ordering her to get on the ground.

Fohlin refuses before screaming, ‘Oh my god,’ as the officer shoves her from behind forcing her to the floor.

As she falls, her glasses fly off her face and the cop begins pressing her into the ground.

He calls for backup and another officer runs over and also begins forcing her downwards.

‘I just hit my head on the concrete!’ Fohlin shouts before the officers manhandle her onto the grass.

As they begin to handcuff her, Fohlin exclaims, ‘I’m a professor!’

A crowd which has gathered then begins hurling abuse at the cops, calling them ‘fascists’, ‘Hitler’ and ‘rabid dogs’.

Fohlin was later booked into DeKalb County jail on charges of disorderly conduct and battery of a police officer.

The chaos was the latest explosive example of unrest on American college campuses amid demonstrations against Israel’s war on Hamas.

The brutal bombing campaign came in response to the October 7 attack which killed 1,200 Israelis and has so far resulted in the deaths of more than 34,000 Palestinians.

Encampments have sprung up at universities across the country as pro Palestine students demand their institutions divest from companies with links to Israel.

The settlement at Columbia University which sparked the subsequent demonstrations has entered its second week despite clashes with police which saw more than 100 activists arrested.

The school has been forced to cancel all in person classes until the end of the semester next week amid the unrest.

Dozens of protesters were arrested at New York University and Yale, and the gates to Harvard Yard were closed to the public Monday as some of the most prestigious US universities sought to defuse campus tensions.
